Vaping CBD is one of the most popular ways to take CBD. Mainly because:
- As mentioned in one of our earlier posts, vaping is the quickest and most effective format for CBD to be absorbed into your bloodstream (almost immediately via the large surface area of your lungs)
- Vaping is a healthier alternative to smoking flower which is how many people are used to or began consuming cannabis
So if you, too, have decided to vape CBD, we strongly suggest namely for the environment that you go for a reusable vaping device. The two most popular types of CBD vaporiser devices to pick from are - one that is compatible with a vape cartridge or one that is compatible with a pod (we will discuss the difference between the two types of device in a later post.) Personally, we think (and that’s why we went this route when designing our CBD vape pen) that you give yourself a lot more choice if you go with the first option, a pen that is compatible with a vape cartridge.
The most common CBD vape pen is a 510 thread battery. What does a 510 thread mean?! A 510 thread indicates the screw configuration where you’d connect your cartridge so indicates what type of cartridge will fit on top of your vape pen. This is standardised across the market (as in 510 thread will always have the same screw configuration regardless of the brand) so you can use any 510 compatible cartridge with a 510 thread vape pen. A 510 thread CBD vape pen will give you the widest selection of CBD vape cartridges to choose from.
Once you have selected your CBD vape pen (might we suggest our own 510 thread vape pen 😉), you will then need to decide the type of vaping experience you want in order to determine which CBD vape cartridge to pick. Are you looking to vape your CBD vape pen more regularly throughout the day? Meaning you could be looking for a CBD alternative to what you currently vape. In that case you will want to go for a weaker CBD e liquid cartridge. These CBD cartridges tend to be no more than 10% in strength and are made from a PG / VG liquid base (similar to what is used in traditional vape e liquids) with hemp extract and terpenes dissolved into this base mixture.
But, if you want to vape CBD less frequently and for it to pack more of a punch when you do, then you will want a high strength CBD cartridge. In this situation, you may be taking CBD for a particular ailment or condition and so need for the CBD to take effect almost instantaneously. It might also mean that you don’t regularly vape and so would prefer a purer option where you do not have to vape additional solvents. If this is the case, you will want to look for a CBD vape oil cartridge. CBD vape oil cartridges are undiluted oil extract with natural terpenes (for flavouring) and nothing else - no PG / VG or MCT, or any other thickeners. Given their purity, these high concentration CBD vape cartridges tend to be much stronger than CBD e liquids, usually between 50-70% in strength.
You’ll be pleased to hear that we sell both types of CBD vape cartridges at Paso as we wanted to give you the choice. What’s more, both types of CBD vape cartridges work with our CBD vape pen. This is because we made sure our CBD vape pen had variable voltage so that you didn't need to buy two devices depending on what mood you were in. So set your vape pen to our lowest setting to work with thinner CBD e liquids and the highest, more powerful setting to heat up the thicker oil.
Any questions, fire them our way. We are here to help and want you to have an enjoyable vaping experience.
